Below are details regarding sibling, labor, and postpartum doula service

BrandiBee Sibling Doula

As a sibling doula my goal is to bring peace of mind to the laboring mother by tending to the needs of their child/children while they focus on bringing their next bundle of joy into the world.  This experience is extremely customizable and I will help your older children be as involved as they and you would like for them to be.

If you are interested in hiring Brandi as a sibling doula please also visit the Get to Know Brandi page.  There you will find additional info that can help you decide if she is the childcare expert you are looking for.

Free Consultation. Whether you would like to speak on the phone or meet in person, consultations are around a half hour and a great way for you to see if you and your spouse are comfortable with me before introducing me to your children.  Likewise, I will be able to make sure I have availability based on your due date and needs before we proceed.

Prenatal Meetings. I prefer to meet with each family twice before the mother is 37 weeks pregnant if possible.  At our first meeting we can discuss details and expectations, and at our second meeting I would prioritize getting to know your child/children so that I am no longer a stranger to them.  I will require that both parents attend the first meeting, and at least one parent attend the second.  In single parent households I would prefer your labor support person to be at the first meeting if possible. These two meetings are included in the BrandiBee Sibling Doula price, but I am happy to be available for more time with your children if you’d like for an additional fee noted below.

Services Offered. At the very least I will be keeping your child/children safe, fed, rested, and entertained.  Based on our previous meetings I will know how involved you would like your child/children to be in your labor, and we will participate to that extent.  I am mindful to start conversations about the new baby and give helpful advice on how the sibling(s) can be helpful when their new sibling arrives.  I am available during labor/delivery to drive children to/from birthing centers and/or hospitals in my vehicle as long as all carseats and children can fit safely (we will talk about this detail ahead of time if necessary).

On-Call Timeline. By hiring me as your sibling doula you are reserving my time.  I will be on-call for your family starting at 38 weeks of pregnancy.  At the onset of early labor I would encourage parents to soak up precious time with their older child/children, and when labor starts to intensify and you are no longer able to focus on them I will head your way.  Once with your children I am committed to stay through labor, birth, and immediate postpartum time.

Pricing. The total cost is $1,000.  I will require $500 at our first meeting, and the additional $500 by the start of my on-call time (your 38th week of pregnancy).  As mentioned in the Prenatal Meetings section above, additional time with your child/children before labor and outside of the two prenatal meetings is $25/hour per child.  This additional time is based on my availability and not a guarantee, and payment will be collected that same day.  I also do not mind if you would like to use that as an opportunity for a date night.

BrandiBee Labor Doula

As a student midwife I am eager to join as many births as possible! I have fabulous colleagues that have helped me train in doula work, and my caring-taking nature makes this role a natural fit.  My goal as a labor doula is to quietly support a laboring mother with pain management, positions that mediate intensity and can help position baby favorably, and with confidence that her labor is progressing safely.  Having a the support of a doula who knows your goals for labor and birth and who also knows the ins and outs of  physiological birth can bring peace of mind when you are at your most vulnerable.

Free Consultation. Whether you would like to speak on the phone or meet in person, consultations are around a half hour and a great way for you to see if you are comfortable with me before making the decision to have me help you during labor.

Prenatal Meetings.  Once you’ve chosen for me to be your doula I would love to sit down with you and talk about your hopes and dreams for labor.  We can discuss expectations so that your voice is clearly heard and we are sure to be on the same page.  I will require one face to face meeting before you are 37 weeks if possible, and after that we can stay in touch via text/phone calls. I will also do my best to be available if you would like me to attend a prenatal appointment with you and your midwife or obstetrician.

Services Offered.  Once active labor starts and you would like my assistance I will head your way.  I will assist with comfort measures and with making sure you stay well nourished and hydrated.  I will be supportive and encouraging to both laboring mother and her labor support person.  Your body knows what it needs, and it will be the rest of our job to maintain a peaceful environment so that your labor remains as uninterrupted as possible.

On-Call Timeline. By hiring me as your labor doula you are reserving my time.  I will be on-call for your family starting at 37 weeks of pregnancy.  During our prenatal meeting we will discuss what the desired time for my arrival to assist you will look like.

Pricing. The cost will depend on what you would like for me to do.  My base cost for being on-call as a labor doula is $900. I will require $450 when you decide to request my services, and the remaining $450 by the time I am on-call (when you are 37 weeks pregnant). Additional services available at additional cost: private labor coping skills class, private newborn care class.

BrandiBee Postpartum Doula

As a postpartum doula my goal is to swoop in quietly for the days you’ve hired me after baby has arrived in order to keep things running smoothly while the family rests.  Prices vary based on what your expectations are and how many days you would like for me to help.

Free Consultation. Whether you would like to speak on the phone or meet in person, consultations are around a half hour and a great way for you to see if you and your spouse are comfortable with me before making the decision to have me help you in your home.

Prenatal Meeting. I would love the opportunity to spend some time in your home so that I can be shown where things are and how things are kept.  This will also be a good opportunity to review expectations so that we are on the same page.

Services Offered.  Postpartum care can vary greatly.  I’m available to help with laundry, dishes, light housework, walk dogs, play with children, prepare meals, make sure mother is fed and hydrated.  I’ve helped in the past with organizing baby clothes and cleaning baby items.  I am open to helping in whatever ways are needed so that mother and baby get a chance to bond and rest.

On-Call Timeline. By hiring me as your postpartum doula you are reserving my time.  I will be on-call for your family starting at 38 weeks of pregnancy.  During our prenatal meeting we will discuss what the desired time for my arrival in the home will look like.

Pricing. My base cost for being on-call as a postpartum doula is $200 for the on-call deposit and $25/hour for services in the home, which includes the services mentioned above. I will require the $200 deposit when you decide to request my services, and the hourly rate to be paid daily after services are complete.
